This remedy found beneficial in fevers, low types of eruptive diseases, diphtheria, follicular tonsillitis, Streptococcus infection, Haemorrhagic diathesis, etc. The skin appears livid or purplish; face dark as mahogany, hot; sordes; throat swollen, purple, livid; semi-conscious, delirious; weak pulse, general torpor and prostration. Symptoms remarkably alike to malignant scarlatina. Diarrhoea, dysentery and great weakness are very marked. Adynamia characterizes all its conditions. Lividity, stupor and malignancy. Mucous membranes haemorrhagic and ulcerative.

Helpful in conditions of low fevers with throat affections and bleeding. The skin purplish; face is dark and hot. The throat is swollen and purple. Suited to delirious, semiconscious states with a weak pulse and general prostration. Diarrhea or dysentery with great weakness. Rash comes out in patches. Prostration at the outset of a disease. Parotid glands are sensitive and enlarged. Fulness of head with heat; burning pains, with vertigo and nausea. The rash returns annually. A feeling of fulness everywhere, and a sensation of passage of electric current from head into limbs. Fever with stupor or indifference with sighing. Suited to nervous, sensitive persons and those who are stout and robust.

Head: Stupor, with sighing. Confused with mental depression. Frontal headache with drowsiness. Congestive headaches. Headache with dilated eyes and photophobia. Face is dusky. Discharge of blood form nose that is thin and burning.

Throat: Inflamed and dusky red appearance of the throat. Swelling with a dry, rough, scraping, choking feeling. Neck is tender and swollen. Voice is croupy and hoarse. Tongue looks dry and brown. Teeth covered with precipitates. Pain while swallowing that extends to the ears.

Respiratory: Hurried irregular breathing. Dry, hacking cough. Cough causes a sore and tired feeling in the chest.

Sleep: Drowsy and restless. Sleep is heavy but disturbed and unrefreshing.

Skin: Livid rash that returns annually. Large blisters filled with dark liquid. Irregular, patchy, eruptions that disappear on applying pressure. Fingers get pale and painful on contact with cold.

Modalities: Better by lying on right side. Worse by sitting up and by motion.
