It is indicated for inflammation and irritation of gastro-intestinal tract, with marked acidity. It is often indicated in gastric complaints of children with emaciation and sour smelling body who are disposed to boils, and women with uterine and climacteric disorders.

Face: Neuralgia with tearing pains on one side of face. Pain in the teeth during pregnancy which gets worse at night. Sensation as if the tooth is elongated. Complaints from growth of wisdom teeth. Pain and swelling of maxillary bone with pulsating pain, worse from exposure to cold wind.

Stomach: Indigestion with sour eructations and vomiting of bitter fluids. Likes fruits, acids, and vegetables with carving for meat.

Abdomen: Distension of abdomen with rumbling and gurgling sounds. Bearing down towards pelvis with pain in right illiac region.

Stool: Loose, frothy and greenish stools mixed with bloody mucus preceded by colicky pains in the abdomen. The milk passes undigested with sour smell in nursing children.

Female: Before menses sore throat, coryza and blockage of nose. Menses too late, scanty, thick and dark flow with mucous leucorrhea. Increased flow during sleep and stops when walking.

Skin: Pale earthy, sallow complexion and dry skin with emaciation. Eruptions like vesicles on hands and fingers with severe itching. Hard lumps under the skin.

Modalities: Worse from warmth of bed, change of temperature, cold wind or weather and rest. Better from warm air, walking in open air.
