Plumbum metallicum CH is generally indicated in sclerotic conditions especially paralysis of extensors, forearm, paralysis from center to periphery with partial loss of sensation. It is also indicated for neuralgic pains, neuritis, anemia, icterus, etc. Depending upon the individualization of case, it is also used for other problems by homoeopathic physicians.

It is indicated for sclerotic conditions with paralysis of extensors, neuralgic pains and neuritis. It mainly acts on the blood, alimentary and nervous system. It is useful in treating hypertension, narrowing of blood vessels, progressive muscular atrophy, infantile paralysis, locomotor ataxia, bulbar paralysis, multiple sclerosis, nephritis, gout and spinal sclerosis.

Mind: Depression, melancholy, apathy, slow perception, loss of memory, aphasia. Delirium with hallucinations and delusions. Impaired memory with paretic dementia.

Eyes: Contracted pupils with yellow conjunctiva. Inflammation of optic nerve with increased pressure inside the eyeballs. Optic neuritis with sudden loss of sight after fainting.

Mouth: Swelling of gums with distinct blue lines along the margins of the gums. Trembling of the tongue with red margin. Difficulty in protruding the tongue, seems paralyzed.

Female: Spasms of vagina with hypersensitive vulva and vagina. Induration of mammary glands with stitches and burning pains. Profuse menses with pain from abdomen to back and tendency to abortion.

Back: Sclerosis of spinal cord with paralysis and progressive muscular atrophy. Paralysis of lower limbs with lightning-like pains.

Extremities: Sclerosis of spinal cord with paralysis of single muscles especially of extensors. Pains in the muscles of thighs with cramps in the calves. Swelling of feet with tingling and numbness with pain and tremor. Pain in the limbs alternates with colic. Paralysis of lower limbs with loss of patellar reflex and pain in right big toe.

Modalities: Worse, at night and motion. Better by rubbing, hard pressure, physical exertion.
