Pulsatilla CH is a remedy which is given for acute complaints that are caused by grief, anger, fright, loss of vital fluids and suppression of menses. It is called as the queen of homoeopathic remedies as it is indicated in many conditions like arthritis, bronchitis with cough and low fever, digestive troubles, eye and ear infections, measles and mumps and menstrual difficulties. It is also a great remedy for postpartum depression.

It is essentially a female remedy where the complaints starts to appear around the age of puberty.

Head: Wandering pains in the head which extends to face and teeth with vertigo. Neuralgic pains in the frontal and supra-orbital region, commencing in the right temporal region, with scalding lachrymation on the affected side. Headache from mental and physical exertion with pressure on the vertex.

Ears: Sensation of pressure inside the ears as if being forced outward. Stuffed sensation in the ears with hearing difficulties and severe pains at night. Infection of the middle ear with thick and bland discharge with offensive odor. Otalgia with swelling and redness of the external ear.

Eyes: Inflammation of conjunctiva and glands of eyelids with thick, profuse, yellow and bland discharges. Itching and burning in eyes with profuse lachrymation and increased mucus secretions. Inflammation and agglutination of eyelids, styes and engorgement of veins in the fundus of the eyeballs.

Nose: Stoppage of right nostril with running nose and pressing pain at the root of the nose. Greenish yellow discharges with thick crusts and scales in the nostrils and loss of smell. Offensive and profuse discharges especially in the morning with fetid odor in the nose from chronic catarrhal affections.

Female: Absence of menses or suppressed menses from nervous debility or anemia. Late and slow menses with scanty, thick, dark, clotted flow which is very changeable and intermittent. Profuse thick and acrid leucorrhea with burning of the parts and pain in back with extreme prostration. Episodes of diarrhea during or after menses.

Modalities: Worse from heat, rich fat food, after eating, towards evening, warm room, lying on left or on painless side. Better in open air, motion, from cold applications, cold food and drinks.
