Rhus toxicodendron acts on the skin, fibrous tissues such as joints, tendons and sheaths, mucous membranes and blood. It is indicated in fevers, septic conditions, rheumatic problems with pain and swelling in the joints and various skin eruptions such as urticarial rashes, vesicles, herpes, urticaria, large blisters, reddish patches, eczema, military rashes, boils, intense itching of the skin with redness and swelling, and swollen glands.

The main action of this remedy is on the skin, fibrous tissues such as joints, tendons and sheaths, mucous membranes and blood. It is indicated in fevers, septic conditions, rheumatic problems, infections of skin such as boils and cellulitis, etc.

Heart: Enlargement of heart from overexertion with quick, weak, irregular and intermittent pulsations and numbness of left arm. Anxiety with trembling and palpitation when at rest.

Back: Pain between the shoulder blades with stiffness of the neck. Pain and stiffness in sacral region which is better from motion and pressure and worse while sitting.

Extremities: Inflammation and congestion of the joints with heat and pain. Tearing pains in the tendons, ligaments, and fascia. Pain and stiffness at the nape of neck, loins, and limbs with soreness of the condyles of bones. Pains worse from cold weather in general. Tearing pains along the ulnar nerve and down the thighs from sciatica. Weakness and numbness of limbs with tingling and crawling sensation after over exertion.

Fever: Fever with marked restlessness and trembling. Fevers with dry and brown tongue and sordes on the teeth and loose stools. Intermittent fever with chills alternating with heat, dry cough and restlessness. Appearance of reddish rashes during the heat stage.

Skin: Intense itching of the skin with redness and swelling. Eruptions such as vesicles, herpes, urticaria, large blisters, reddish patches, eczema, cellulitis and swollen glands.
